Amazon Author Profile
Guy Murphy is an Australian Melbourne based author, researcher and heritage consultant. His long-standing interest in Mars exploration was initially fired during the 1990s by reading the Mars trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson and Robert Zubrin's book 'The Case for Mars" while a university student. He co-founded the Mars Society Australia and has participated in scientific expeditions to Mars-like environments in the Australian outback. He has spent time at the Mars Desert Research Station, a simulated Mars base in southern Utah. He has spoken at Mars conferences in Australia, Europe and the United States. He is an occasional commentator on Martian affairs for the Melbourne Age and other media organisations. He approaches Mars exploration with a deep knowledge of the themes of settlement and exploration gleaned from Australian history, which he sees expressed again in another new world.
